Funding opportunity: Opioid Use and Stimulant Use Prevention and Recovery Services in the 2S/LGBTQ+ Community

The California Department of Health Care Services is using available federal grant funding for a prevention and recovery services project for 2S/LGBTQ+ communities throughout California. Funding is available for 2S/LGBTQ+ organizations to develop or expand upon prevention, education and recovery services for opioid use disorder and stimulant use disorders while creating tangible links to treatment services and providers.

Please contact us if you would like to receive the application materials for this previous funding opportunity.

Why we are using the term 2S/LGBTQ+
In December 2021, The Center at Sierra Health Foundation released the “Opioid and Stimulant Use Prevention and Recovery Services in the LGBTQ2S+ Community” request for applications. Through feedback from the community, we have updated the name to “Opioid and Stimulant Use Prevention and Recovery Services in the 2S/LGBTQ+ Community”. We want to be inclusive, mindful and respectful of the various identities reflected in the acronym and acknowledge the cultural and historic context of the term two spirit. A valuable resource to learn about the importance of the updated terminology can be found on the Two Spirit Journal website.
